Here are two of "Maira Kalman's paintings based on her visit with the brilliant photographer (and my former neighbor), Helen Levitt. Helen lives in a fifth floor walk up off lower Fifth Avenue. I have heard about the famed Saul Steinberg camera (see below) from my former landlords (Holly and David), who live in the brownstone where Helen has lived for over forty years.
